I live in Seoul, South Korea with my wife, whom I call J, and our two cats, a Siamese named Moo-Ping (phonetic spelling of the Thai for 'my little roast pork') and Koshka (Russian for 'cat'). We call them Mooey and Furball, respectively. J and I will be here in Seoul for only a little while longer! We're already starting to learn a new language - Русский!

I also like to travel. In addition to having lived in eleven cities and towns, I have been in 35 36 states:

As well, I have traveled pretty extensively in eastern Canada (I love Montréal and Québec City). I have also been to Mexico (a week-long mission trip 10 years ago with annaonthemoon's church, England (a short layover at Heathrow Airport, but I still count it, dammit), Denmark, Sweden (my mom lived there for 2 years), China, Japan, Korea and Thailand.

Going along with the traveling, I enjoy taking pictures. I also enjoy modern and abstract art (my two favourite museums are the Museums of Modern Art in New York and San Francisco). I also enjoy Philadelphia's own Franklin Institute. I'm a sucker for a walk-through model of the human heart and an IMAX movie.

Speaking of movies, I mostly like dramas, with the occasional stupid comedy (Scary Movie, for example) thrown in.

Before I give the impression of a complete metrosexual, I do enjoy sports (though I don't drink beer or scratch myself while it's on TV). Because I've lived in a number of places, I root for my hometown football team, the Philadelphia Eagles, but in baseball the Cleveland Indians and in hockey the Toronto Maple Leafs (never lived there, long story really).

As for TV, I don't watch a whole lot of it. Mostly old(er) shows on DVD. We get a tiny bit of American TV here in Korea (we don't subscribe to the paid tier of cable, so it amounts to half a dozen channels in English plus a few in Korean), and when I do watch it, it's usually one of the Law & Order series or one of the CSI series.

I am a bit of a news and politics junkie. I am proud to be a liberal. I believe in human rights for all people, taking care of the environment and not starting wars for profit. I don't much talk about politics in my blog, and I do try to be respectful of people with differing viewpoints, but I wanted to put that out there.

I was brought up in a combined Catholic and Methodist household, but I don't attend and have pretty much become an agnostic, at most.
